School of Rehabilitation

School of Rehabilitation of Kunming Medical University was established on November 24, 2016, formerly known as the program of Rehabilitation Therapy set in 2005. The School of Rehabilitation has 6 undergraduate programs: Rehabilitation Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation (Audiology & Speech and Language Pathology), Sports Rehabilitation and Prosthetic & Orthotic Engineering. At the same time, it recruits full-time postgraduate and part-time postgraduate students in3 second-level disciplines, including Rehabilitation Medicine and Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation. There are 856 undergraduates, master and doctoral students studying at school, and more than 1,000 undergraduates and more than 100 master and doctoral students have graduated. So far, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy have gotten international certification and re-accreditation, and became national first-class programs, ranking A+ in Soft Science. Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation isa provincial first-class program, ranking B in Soft Science. The Prosthetic & Orthotic Engineering program has just been gotten accreditation by the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) on August, 2022. The school has hired 4 overseas part-time department heads, 2 honorary professors, and 18 visiting professors. There are 67 full-time and part-time teachers in total, including 2 Yunnan Famous Teachers. There are 10 professors and associate professors, 4 doctoral supervisors, and 13 master’s supervisors. All full-time teachers have the education background of studying abroad, and they have all received doctoral or master degrees.
