On December 4, the "International Chinese Education Curriculum and Teaching Innovation Seminar and the Award Ceremony of the 5th National Chinese Teaching Micro-Course Competition" was held in Northwest Normal University, Lanzhou. The series micro courses "Medical Chinese" created by the Chinese Teaching and Researching team of International Education School of Kunming Medical University won the Grand Prize among the teacher group , and Chinese Teacher Wang Yue won the "Best Instructor Award". The competition has received sufficient support and guidance from the International Education School, the Medical Education Department of the Second affiliated Hospital of KMU and professional teachers in related departments.

The International Education school has considered the major characteristics of international students, utilized university's disciplinary advantages, deeply studied the teaching and research of Medical Chinese, and obtained a series of medical Chinese teaching and research achievements. The "Medical Chinese" series of micro courses dedicated to the characteristics of authenticity, scenario, and interactivity. The Chinese Language expression and interaction are shown by the diagnosis and treatment scenes in the medical intern of international student. The course to lay the foundation of medical Chinese for learners, improve the Chinese communication proficiency and learning ability of international students, meanwhile, promote the student’s clinical ability, and help cultivate international medical talents with good Chinese communication ability.

The National Postgraduate Chinese Teaching Micro-Course Competition is one of the largest and most influential competitions in International Chinese language Education. This year's micro-course competition was jointly initiated by Northwest Normal University and Beijing Normal University. More than 4,000 contestants from 132 universities across the country signed up for the competition and submitted more than 1,900 micro-course. This year's competition for the first time set the topic of "Chinese for Specific Purposes", Kunming Medical University teachers won the grand prize in the teachers' team competition, which was praised by professional judges, teachers and contestants of participating universities .
