III. Application Eligibility

1. Applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens with good conduct and with no criminal records and shall be in good health both physically and psychologically, excellent in academic performance, friendly to China and abide by the laws of the People's Republic of China and the discipline and regulations of Kunming Medical University. To apply as international students in bachelor’s degree, Chinese immigrants in other countries shall present the valid passport or citizenship documents issued at least 4 years before and have lived at least 2 years (with 9 months being considered as one year, subject to the entry-exit stamp on passports) in foreign countries within last 4 years (counting to 30^th April each year).

2. Academic and age requirements:

① Applicants for bachelor’s degree programs must hold a graduation certificate of the senior-high school or above and be from 18-25 years of age.

② Applicants for master’s degree programs must hold a Bachelor’s degree with similar majors, and those who graduated from non-Chinese universities must hold a bachelor's degree from a university accredited by the Ministry of Education of China and be from 18-35 years of age.

③ Applicants for doctoral degree programs must hold a Master’s degree with similar majors, and those who graduated from non-Chinese universities must hold a master's degree from a university accredited by the Ministry of Education of China and be from 18-40 years of age.

④ Applicants for advanced studies in medicine shall have the education backgrounds of Bachelor's degree or above in medicine and be from 18-50 years of age.

⑤ Applicants for advanced studies in Chinese language shall have education backgrounds of senior-high school or above or of equivalent level and be from 18-50 years of age.

3.Language proficiency requirements:

① Applicants for Chinese medium programs shall have the ability to join the professional studies in Chinese and bear the certificate of HSK 4 Chinese proficiency or above.

② Applicants for English medium programs shall have the ability to join the professional studies in English. English proficiency certificates such as IELTS, TOEFL, or other corresponding English proficiency certificates are required for those whose native languages are not English, with the academic score being 6.0 or above and with each item no less than 5.0 for IELTS and with the Internet-based Testing score being 70 points or above and with each item no less than 15 for TOEFL. And other English proficiency test scores refer to the IELTS and TOEFL scores. Applicants who are of native English speakers or have been taught in English medium during their previous study levels, shall provide their English marks or shall have English Proficiency certificates provided by the previous schools. Applicants who have Chinese language foundations will have the priority for admission.

IV. Application Time

1. Self-supporting degree programs: January 1st, 2023—July 1st, 2023.

2. Scholarship programs: Please refer to 2023 scholarship programs admission brochure for International Students of Kunming Medical University (KMU)（http://kpmeili.com or https://kmmc.17gz.org/）.

3. Non-degree programs: Whole academic year.

V. Admission Procedure

1. Application online

Applicants are required to complete online-application on the website of KMU, website: http://study.kmmc.cn or https://kmmc.17gz.org/. Applicants for scholarship programs may refer to 2023 scholarship programs admission brochures. Necessary documents shall be provided as follows:

① Application Form for International Students of KMU（print after the online application）;

② Scan copies of valid passport;

③ Scan copies of Physical Examination Record For Foreigner and the blood check report;

④ Scan copies of notarized highest degree certificates, diploma and transcripts either in Chinese or in English;

⑤ Scan copies of HSK4 Certificate or above（Compulsory for Chinese medium program applicants and applicants for professional-degree postgraduates with English as the medium of construction）;

⑥ Scan copies of the English proficiency certificate（Compulsory for English medium program applicants）;

⑦ Personal resume and study plans written in Chinese or English;

⑧ Two recommendation letters written in English or Chinese from professors or associate professors (Compulsory for postgraduate programs applicants) ;

⑨ Family financial situation documents (Compulsory for self-funding program applicants);

⑩ Scan copies of Non-criminal Certificate issued by authorities.

2. Examination and Interview

Kunming Medical University will exam and review all the documents and conduct the interviews to the applicants who have passed the first examination and then enroll the selected applicants according to their performances.

VI. Admission Decision and Offer

1. Kunming Medical University shall mail JW202/JW201 forms and admission notices to the qualified applicants.

① International students who are admitted shall apply for X1 Visa in time and come to register to International Education School of Kunming Medical University with all the original application materials and admission documents on the dates specified in the admission notices.

②. Students who fail to register over two weeks after the deadline without any explanation are considered as abandoning their admission qualifications to Kunming Medical University.

VIII. Others

1. Applicants shall pay attention to notifications and documents released by Kunming Medical University and all the consequences caused by the applicant's negligence and other personal reasons shall be borne by the applicant himself. 

2. Matters not mentioned herein shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant policies of the higher authorities and International Education School and if there is any new police or requirement, it will be released in time.
